The Schutzhund club was originally founded by Mike
Hamilton in 1980. In 1981 the club was known as Western Indiana
Schutzhund Club and became a full USA club in 1981. Some of the
first members were Randy Rhodes, Cindy Rhodes, Bill Fancil,
Laura Jones, Storm Bergin, Nick Blackford, John Oliver and Barb
Eichman. During these first years the club grew and hosted many
trials. In 2005 we changed the clubs name to O.G. Indianapolis Schutzhund and Police. We thought this gave it more of a
European name. The club has had many different training
locations, Fishers In., Fortville In., Thompson Road Park, Southeastway Park and Post Road Park. Our current home is at the
beautiful field at the German Park on the south side of
Indianapolis. Over
the past 27 years the O.G. Indy Schutzhund Und Polizei Club has
hosted over 40 Schutzhund trials, 6 regional Championships and 2
National Championships. We are very proud of our heritage and
look very positive to the future.
The one thing that has always remained consistent
is FUN and GREAT dog training. Enjoy our website and please feel
free to stop by and train with us! Happy training.
